What a Flirt!

Yes, he's nearly 5 months old and he's already turning on the charm! Nancy was over to chat over some pictures she took of us and Sean was big ol' Mr. Smiley Pants!

Recently Sean has discovered the wonder of splashing in the tub! He loves it! And I think the splashing motion has helped him to figure out how to get the flower on his exersaucer to honk..he seems quite pleased about this!

Well, tomorrow Sean and I are off on our big adventure to Ontario!! I think I'm ready?! There is so much to think about and do and pack and and and... Still, I'm looking forward to seeing as much family and friends as I can in 8 days! I've never flown with an infant before so I'm sure this shall be an exceedingly interesing trip! Please pray for us as we travel.

So for the next week there won't be any new posts but be sure to come back to the blog on the following Sunday, I hope to have some of our pictures from the trip up by then (wishful thinking?)

Sean decided to taste Noah, having seen Abby gnawing on Mrs. Noah.

"Welcome to my office, how may I help you today? I have incredily delicious teething rings, a honking flower and some other wonderful things to chew on."

Doesn't Sean look huge in this picture?

"I love when Aunt Nancy comes to visit! She's so much fun!"....

..."and we're incredibly cute together!!"

A Play Date with Abby

I think Bonnie and I have come to the conclusion that Tuesdays are great days for play dates. We all go to Bible Study then come back here for some good times. The babes get their bottles and naps and then its play time (but not necessarily in that order). They are so funny together, when Sean is in his exersaucer and Abby is standing beside it, he gets really excited. He starts flailing his arms about and stamping his feet, all the while smiling up a storm at her.

Abby is quite the gal as these photos plainly show, if you'd like to learn more about Abby why not drop by her web site. Its listed on the links section as Brian and Bonnie's blog. There you will find many more photos and the musings of her mother.

"I don't know Mom but I think there may be a tooth in here.."

Mrs. Noah never tasted so good.

..wherefore the Ark came unto hard times as it ranneth into the Abby. The animals and Noah's family did spew forth onto the ground...

"Now I heard that orange was all the rage but I'm my own little girl so I'm totally going with red!"

Born to Be Wild

Sean was definetly born to be wild, or at least his hair anyways! Funny little story to share, I was shopping for shoes for Sean when a little boy came up to us and proceeded to try to entertain Sean by waving his little toy bear in front of his face. Sean seemed fairly amused by his antics. The little boy asked what his name was, I told him Sean, then he wanted to know how long his birthday was...must admit at first I wasn't quite sure what he was getting at but settled for just telling him the date. He then asked what I was doing and I explained that I was trying to pick out a nice new pair of shoes for Sean. The little boy suggested that I should by some sandals since Summer was on its way! The boy was only like 7 years old, and already dispensing shopping advice!

" I love this shirt, thank you Aunty Linda!"

This boy will sleep anywhere!

Sean and his new favourite "toy."

He is happy even when he's sleeping!

A Couple of Toe Grabbers

Sean's latest discovery has been his toes! He loves his toes, he loves them so much he does what he can to get at least one stuffed into his mouth. This skill comes in mighty helpful on the change table..well except when you're trying to fit the flaps down, then I'm busy battling with failing legs and arms to get in between them and get the diaper fastened. Oh to be that flexible.

Sean is also making grand discoveries about the world around him. He notices when mom or dad have something in their hand and he would dearly love to have whatever it is, be it a glass of milk, a forkful of supper, whatever. Today while I was puttering about the kitchen I had Sean on my hip and he was quite impressed with the container of large utensils I have on the counter so I passed him the slotted spoon to see what he thought of it. He grabbed hold and immediatley attemped to stuff it in his mouth..he reminded me a bit of a goalie. Hmmmm, from the Toronto Maple Leafs, in goal, number 17....SEAN PERIC!!! for Marko it would sound more like this: from the Calgary Flames, in goal, number 42...SEAN PERIC!!hehehehe..

"See my feet Mom?!"

"They're not smelly!"

"Look Ma, no hands!!"

Happy Easter

It's Easter time and Sean is discovering solid food! What fun! Friday was his first go at Rice Cereal. How did it go you was messy for the most part. He does seem to enjoy it though. All I can say is thank goodness for bibs! We've had a pretty quiet Easter as a family. We've had phone calls from home and away which is great! Can't wait to see Grammy Peric and Aunty Linda the end of June. Gramma and Grampa Hope and Aunty Karina are coming for a visit on May 6th!

"hmmmm, I think I like this."

Immunization Day

Yes, today was time to get three needles jabbed into your leg day! You can well imagine how thrilled Sean was about this. The nurse was fantastic though, got out a shaker and a bell, wonderful things to try and distract Sean from his worked up until she jabbed him with the needle then it was screaming and tears, but if you rang the bell he would quiet down and watch and listen and then she would go in again and again Sean would share his displeasure with us. A bonus to getting his shots is that we also get to weigh and measure Sean. So he is now a robust 17 lbs and a long 26 inches! This boy is growing like a weed, oh and his head is an awesome 44cms in circumference! Now if only more hair would grow on his head instead of just the middle..theres only so much styling you can do with his current mohawk hairdo.

Smiles for Daddy.

"Mommy, what are you doing? It's freaking me out!"

"My hands have just got to be about the most yummiest hands on the face of the planet!"

Two Great Pics of Two Wonderful Babies

Abby is just so expressive! Any suggestions as to what she might be thinking?

And this guy, why he just has the craziest smiles and longest tongue!!

Photo Gallery

Here are a few fun pics. Enjoy!

"I just love what you've done with your cheeks Sean! Looks and feels great!"

Bonnie giving Abby lotsa lovin'

Me, and my precious little bundle of joy!

Sean with his proud Papa.

Exercise Time

Today Sean was playing with his baby gym. He used to just whack away at it with his hands but, now he likes to involve his feet. At times he looks like a little gymnast, getting his little feet in the air and almost into the rings! Most times he just grabs onto his feet and giggles. He realizes now that the little suns come off without much effort so he'll yank on one and immediately stuff it in his mouth, legs still flailing about! Quite funny!

"Now if I could just kick that red one a little closer to me, I'd be set."

"This is sooo going in my mouth!!"

My Sleepy, Smiley Guy

Hey there! Not too much to post here today but I do have some great pics of this cutie in his smiliest and sleepiest times today! Enjoy!

I love his hat.

I think he really looks like Marko in this pic.

Could he be any happier?

All that smiling finally tuckered him out.

4 Months Old!...Can You Believe It?!

I can hardly believe that Sean is 4 months old already! Where has the time gone? He is quite the little fella. Some things we'd like you to know about Sean now that he's all of 4 months: He is a very smiley guy! He loves to play. He sometimes does this Elvis type thing with his lip (still haven't managed to catch it on the camera). If he could, he would do everything standing up. Tonight he wanted to take his bath standing up. He plays hard, he eats hard, he sleeps hard. He likes to play with his toes. He does not enjoy being on his belly. He likes to play with Abby. He doesn't mind sleeping in his car seat. He loves to play on the change table. He likes to look up into your eyes when you're feeding him. He likes to be in his highchair when we're eating. He'd rather just down his whole bottle than stop every once in awhile for a burping. He loves to squeal. Peek-a-Boo is the best game ever. He likes to pull the flaps down on his Bathtime Baby Book. He loves to blow bubbles. He saves his biggest smiles for Daddy when Daddy comes home from work. That's our boy!
Now for what you've all been waiting for..the pictures:

Surrounded by friends in the playpen.

Wow, turning 4 months old sure can take a lot out of you. ;)

Fun Times With Daddy

This evening Daddy got a chance to have some quality hang out time with Sean and what a ball the two of them had. I don't think I've ever heard Sean squeal with as much delight as he did tonight when Daddy played Peek-a-Boo with him. Check it out:

Some other funny happenings in the Peric household. First off, I was feeding Sean his bottle when Marko asked if I would like anything and I asked him to pour me a glass of juice. We've discovered that if you stick a straw in the glass its much easier to get at while feeding Sean. Well at one point I was sipping out of my straw and Sean was chugging away at his bottle, when he lifts his little arm and whacks my glass, as though to push it away. I thought it was just an accident at first so I tried it again and again that little hand came up and pushed the glass away! It was pretty funny.

Next point to ponder was bath time. Every night as a part of the night time routine we give Sean a bath and this night was no exception. I got Sean down to his birthday suit and gently lowered him into his tub. This tub is great, it has a cushy pad for him to rest on and its in a reclined positon. But tonight for whatever reason Sean was just not interested in lying back to have his bath, no way! He was all about sitting up and taking it like a man! Really! He just would not lie back. It was a really weird sensation for me to wash his hair while he just sat there, and he didn't topple forward either. He had both hands on either side of the tub holding him up. Weird eh?! I love this little fella!

Some Fun Things We've Done Together

Sean is so much fun! Here are just a few things we've enjoyed doing:

BIB: Buildning Incredible Babies, this is a great program. Mothers bring their little ones to be looked after while they have a session with a speaker. Sometimes its a dietician, sometimes a health nurse. Next time we're headed to the Library! After the main session the mommies join thier babies downstairs and take part in an age appropriate activity. This week we did a fun poem, hand print thing.

It Says: Star Light, Star Bright First Star I See Tonight I Wish I May, I Wish I Might, Have the Wish I Wish Tonight:

I Wish That Sean would have a reason to smile every day. Love, Mommy.

As you can see in this pic of Sean in his exersaucer, you'll notice to the right of him a blue thing, its a buttrfly/flower type toy. Anyways, the other day Sean was in there and had his teething rings (four of them strung together) and he was whipping them about until he managed to lasso the flower. He tugged and he tugged and then whamo right in the face it hit him. He let out a yelp then went right back to sucking on the rings! Too funny!

Sean has always had an amazing head of hair. Right from the get go this child had lotsa hair, which is great only now his hair seems to have, well, it seems to have a life of its own:

Isn't it lovely?!

And finally I end with Sean's favourite game of all time: Peek-a-Boo! I can't get over how much fun he has with this! It was pretty funny this past Friday we were over to see Bonnie and Abby. While we were there we had the babes together on the floor so I thought I'd try out Peek-a-Boo with Abby. What a difference! She would let me throw the blanky over her, she'd have her arms outstretched, smile on her face and then I pull the blanky off and say Peek-a-Boo and she'd still have that happy little smile on her face and her hands outstretched as much as to say, "that was nice, thanks". Sean on the other hand would get wildly excited as the blanky went over him and before I could pull the blanky away he would be thrashing about and when I did get it off and said Peek-a-Boo, he would squeal with delight...again Mommy,AGAIN!

I LOVE this game!!
