Coffee, Toys and Laptops

For the past little while I have been getting together with some gals and their babes for coffee at Beanz. It's a great place with great coffee! I look forward to Wednesdays just to meet, chat and drink coffee. We're quite the little group, and there are always people who stop and stare at us. I guess it is fairly unique to come across 4 moms, 4 babes and 4 strollers, all at the same table. We have been called the baby corner, the baby gathering and all other manner of such names. We've also been called 'cute'! Too funny. Here's the Coffee Crew:

We are, starting from bottom left to right: Judy and her son Josh, Lori and her daughter Lindsay; top left is Bonnie and her daughter Abby and then me and Sean.

This is Bonnie the Great! I love Bonnie.. Like I said she's great and her daughter has impeccable timing! Bonnie just got Abby back from Lori and blah, Abby got her mommy good. Bonnie in good fashion laughed it all off, and then wiped it off her face.

"Say what? Just because I didn't eat my green beans now I have to play with this green box? You've got to be kidding me!"

"Back off, get your own basket of toys!"

"hmmm, I wonder if there is a space opening up at Daddy's work, I just finished updating my resume."

Sean's Sounds

Sean likes to make sounds, all kinds of sounds. Nothing too terribly understandable but he is quite emphatic about them. Now I've heard that most babies at this age are making ma-ma-ma or da-da-da or ga-ga-ga sounds, Sean not so much. Most of the time when he is trying out his little voice for conversation he immediately sticks something in his mouth like his hand or a toy. This creates for some interesting sounds none of which really sounds like the beginnings of speech but it is funny. Then there are the times when he's in the tub and he insists on putting as much of his rubber ducky's head as possible in his mouth and then he blows...quite the fun sound that makes, he uses his voice while he does it so it's not just airy. Then there's his grunting scream..this he reserves for when mommy or daddy are trying to dress him just before bedtime. Add to that the extra squriminess and voila -- you have a frazzled parent! He usually lets up once he's fully clothed and has a full bottle at hand. I'm looking forward to his journey through sounds and communication..can't wait for the endless string of "WHYs" and "NOs"

Sean playing some air piano.

I am just that cute..really!

"Now, hold on to your hats cause I'm pulling out my air guitar."

" Welcome to my box, spacious yet homey!"

"YAY, my daddy is home and he's going to play with ME!!"

Toys from Cyprus

Recently Sean got a surprise from his Grammie and Auntie in Cyprus..they sent some toys back..There were some Peeka Blocks and a musical phone..Sean's favourite block has got to be the one with the pig in sorta rattles when he plays with it and the phone, Sean loves to gum the phone as you can see:

"This little piggy went in my mouth.."

"Grammie Peric, Auntie Linda, are you there? Thank you for the toys! I love them!"

More Milestones

Boy, he sure is growing up fast. Early last week we discovered Sean's first tooth breaking through and now the second is making its appearance! I can hardly believe it and today he stunned me by pulling himself up! He was sitting on my lap when he leaned forward, grabbed the side of his exersaucer and hauled himself up. Needless to say he was pretty pleased with himself as was I. He just seems like he wants to be on the go, only he can't quite get his body to do all the things he would like it to but he's getting there. As far as solids go, Sean has progressed from carrots to sweet potatoes and tomorrow we tackle green beans...Yum!

"Oh wow that block is farther away then I how am I going to get it into my mouth?"
I love my purple triangle.

Fun with Sean

My parents were here again this weekend for a short visit. Sean and Grampy got along quite well. Sean seemed quite fascinated by what Grampy could do with his face!

Today I went to work and Daddy got to look after his baby boy! I've never really had the experience of being away from Sean for a long time and then coming home..what fun. He was so happy! I thought he would wiggle right out of his skin he was so happy, now I know how Marko feels when he come home from work to his happy little son.

I love the matching caps!

Super smiley boy.

Fun Photos

Nothing too new to report today. Sean is just so much fun, a super smilely guy. He laughs and smiles at some of the silliest things. Like Marko or I will just make a silly face and he starts giggling. Or we'll just bring our face really close to his and this he finds highly amusing!

Last weekend Sean got some lovely gifts, one of them being one of those shape sorter contraptions. I was ecstatic! I had been looking for one of these things for Sean for awhile and hadn't had much luck. I used to love that toy when I was little so I wanted Sean to have the same fun. So yeah, he was playing with it today and thats when we decided to put half of it on his head...parenting at its best!

How can you say no to a smile like that?!

"Do you need a hug?"

Ultra cute! Check out that hair extension!

Daddy's first time feeding Sean cereal...Yummy!

"Here we go looby loo, here we go looby light..."

Fun with Solids!

Sean has been enjoying his cereals, he loves oatmeal in particular! He eats that like its going out of style. So this morning we got into some yummy pureed carrots. He wasn't so sure he liked this but he did eat it all. Here are a couple pics plus another one from yesterday that is super sweet :)

"Mommy, are you sure that I'm supposed to eat this?"

"Well, I guess it'll be alright."

Playing Outside

Today Sean and I spent some quality time outside. We went for a walk down at Victoria Park, which Sean slept through and then this afternoon we sat out on the lawn. Later we went around back to the swing in the trees. It was a lot of fun, mostly because I just bought him a new pair of sandals and a super cute sunhat. Hope you enjoy the pictures!

Happy Mother's Day!

My first official mother's day! It was a beautiful day. I must say now that is also official that Sean is cutting teeth so yeah, this was sort of a mixed bag of emotions Mother's Day. Sean was happy yet also cranky by times. Can't say that I blame him though, if I had something sharp and pointy cutting its way through my gums I probably wouldn't be all that thrilled either.

Marko was a sweetie and made me waffles for lunch..Yummmy..Sean was also impressed and did what he could to try and get some of mine! Marko also brought me flowers! I love flowers. We also went to the Jail (Pizza Delight) for supper...the waitresses were charmed by Sean.

It was a really special day, I also got to have a really nice chat with my mother. It's really special to talk to mom about mommy things like baby food. Yes, I've decided that I'm going to make homemade baby food. I'm really looking forward to it. Sure it's just pureeing veggies and fruits and such but hey I get to make it and Sean gets to eat it! I'm lovin' it! We're still working through the cereals at the moment, moving on to barley tomorrow..Yum.

Here are a couple pics from today:

Our little sweetie and my flowers..lovely..

Whattaya think of the bow tie? Pretty sweet eh?

Finally, Gramma & Grampa Hope and Aunty Karina Come to Visit

Last weekend my family came to visit. This was the first time since December that they came to see us. It was wonderful to have them over, Sean really seemed to enjoy playing with them. He loved having Grampa help him to walk. They're coming back for another visit next weekend. Here are some pics:

"You're pretty good at this Grampa!"

"Pretty neat necklace ya got here Gramma!"
"Hold me up Aunty! I don't know if Grampy has a good hold of me!"
A happy and proud Grampa.

One of these things is not like the where Grampa is missing hair, Sean has it and where Sean is missing hair Grampa has it...go figure!

Last Pic from the Trip...My Old House

I can hardly believe that this is my old looks so, so well old and really kinda dumpy and I don't remember it being dumpy at all. I think the worst of it is that there should be this really great looking tree blocking part of our view of the house but for some reason or other the home owners had decided to get rid of it. It was the best tree for climbing..the branches were spread out at just the right points to make climbing a cinch! My sister and I used to climb it all the time. Those were the good old days I guess.

Random pics from the Trip

Hey all, I'm still trying to get through some of the trip pics, I have some other new ones I'd like to post as well, like when Gramma & Grampa Hope and Aunty Karina came to visit...

This is a great pic of a great couple, the Gingriches. They are long time family friends and about the greatest and funnest (if thats a word) people I've ever met!

Yes, this is a tree. Its the Kimmett's neighbour's tree. Isn't it a lovely tree?
This is Sean and his he loves his little puppy.

Sean's first go in a swing..he was not entirely convinced that this was something he should like.
This is my favourite pic, Sean in his Bono glasses! So cute.

Fun with Friends

While in Ontario we were able to visit a few friends. I'm sorry that we weren't able to reach everyone but I'm certainly glad that we were able to visit with those that we were able to reach.

Wendy feeding Sean. He's a pretty happy camper.
"That looks like a great toy Lyn, I think I'd like to chew on it for awhile."

"This is Nikki, she brought me my own puppy to cuddle with!"
Sean eyeballing Melissa. He was totally enamoured with her. He kept smiling at her then looking away, soooo cute!!
