A Busy Day

Sean had a fairly busy day today. He spent a fair amount of his morning using the cubes to cruise about and he enjoyed one of our Cyprus coasters while he was at it. In the afternoon, Aunty Linda and Grammy Peric came down. Aunty Linda cut Sean's hair, which was great, he was in great need of a trim...we kept a little baggy of the cuttings..felt kinda sad when I saw it since it is quite dark and the hair he has now is quite light. His first baby hair is gone, my how he's grown!

This afternoon when Sean decided he didn't need an afternoon nap we went outside and sat on the lawn with Auny and Grammy, that was, until we spied the kiddy pool! We stripped Sean down and plopped his wriggling body in it. He was thrilled..I didn't have my camera at the time but Aunty Linda did so hopefully I can get a couple of her pics to post. Aunty Linda got into the pool with Sean for some splashing fun and while they were splashing away a neighbour's dog dropped by to visit. Sean was ecstatic! He just loves dogs!

Grammy wanted to take Sean for a walk before bedtime but Sean was so tuckered out that he konked out in his stroller but soon woke upon entering the kitchen. So I got him fed and dressed and tucked him into bed! (used the kiddy pool for his usual bathtime!)

Butterfly Kisses

Yesterday, Sean, Grammy, Aunty Linda and I went to the Country Gardens in New Glasgow. It was awesome!! So much to see! The most unique part of this garden was the Butterfly House, now that was cool. You walk into this greenhouse type enclosure, and there are all these beautiful butterflies just fliting about..and if you stand fairly still they will land on you. I had two land on me at once, so cool! Sean was pretty captivated by them as well.

The view from this place is absolutely breath taking, I've already posted some pics from it but I'll include some more. Sean really seemed to enjoy soaking in all the different sights and he was incredibly good for all the stopping, picture taking and popping back in the stroller that we did. He also liked hanging out with the miniture train station.

I wish I knew more about butterflies to be able to tell what kind this one is.

Getting Back to Sean

I will now get back to talking about Sean. He just lights up my life!
New Fun Facts About Sean:
1) He will now wake up in the morning and just play for awhile in his crib instead of wanting to be fed right away.
2) He will pull himself up on everything and anything he can get his little hands on.
3) He likes to "cruise" around the living room.
4) He does this thing with his tongue, where he turns it over and starts chewing on it (this is a Hope trait I am told!!)
5) He enjoys his cheerios immensely.
6) He has outgrown his exersaucer, I just let him play with it from the outside and sometimes he crawls through it.
7) He seems to understand the word no.
8) He likes it when people clap.
9) He likes to crawl into the kitchen and slap the tiles.
10) He loves being with his Grammy Peric and Auntie Linda.

What a cutie!

I don't know about this mom.

"I love my Grammy!"

"So, Abby is coming over right? I mean I'm all spiffed up to see her!"

Our Trip-The Finale a.k.a Crazy Crap We Came Across

I'm trying to quickly finish up our trip so I can get back to blogging about the most adorable baby boy in the world!

Who knew that fishermen moonlighted as postmen?!

"Here's a chair for two more to curl up in.." The Friendly Giant.

Isn't this a ridiculously wonderful name for a road?!

And isn't this just about the last thing you would expect to find on the afore mentioned road?!

Our Trip Part II The Beautiful Scenery

Here are just a few pictures of the beauty that is Prince Edward Island...yes this is a shameless plug for the Island; to get those of you out there who have not yet visited to see what you've been missing!

Now, I'm not a big fan of the Tiger Lily, but this one caught my eye...thankfully it let it go soon afterwards.
This is Priest Pond Creek.

Our Trip Part I- Places We Went To

We had a really nice trip up east this weekend. Nothing like a little getaway to refresh you. We stayed at a quaint little Bed & Breakfast in Basin Head. It was a little unusual in that, basically we were staying in this older couple's private home for the night. I felt like we had come to stay with someone else's grandparents! They were really great though. After we had dropped off our things we were headed out to supper at the Redstone Restaurant. Just as we were about to head out the door, our hostess mentioned that there was a surprise for us in our room. We paded back into our room and at our hostess's instruction looked under the lamp to find a 20 dollar gift certificate to the very same restaurant we were about to go to!! We were quite thrilled with this.

Supper was grand and the service was great. We didn't spend too much time touring about that evening as it was raining cats and dogs out. We headed back to our new humble abode and pulled out some card games. At first it was just Marko and I playing at their kitchen table until the husband came out to see what exactly we were up to. He pulled up a chair and we dealt him into a game...he won! While we were playing, the missus came out to see how her hubby was doing and give him some helpful instruction. She also asked us if we had figured out who had given us the gift certificate..I had originally thought that it was just something that they had did, but now the game was on...It was a quick game as there was only one person I could think of that would have done such a thing...turns out this do - gooding - slueth had called around to see if we were staying there and then had her dad drop off the goods..All I can say is thank you ever so much Bonnie and Brian, we really enjoyed our meal!

The next morning we were up early and off to tour around. We headed further east and visited the East Point Lighthouse..it wasn't open yet but the view was fantastic. We continued our little trek and stopped here and there to take some pictures until about lunch time, when we stopped at the Sheltered Harbour Cafe..no freebies this time though..but again it was a great meal and it was cheap!

After lunch we headed home, both Marko and I missed our baby boy and couldn't wait to see his smiling little face.

This is the Sheltered Harbour Cafe, it doesn't look like much from the outside, but let me just say that the food is scrumptious!!
This is the Redstone Restaurant, if you are ever in the area you should totally check it out!

Yes, this is our B&B...too cute.

My Creepin' Crawlin' Cruiser

Sean started crawling this morning! Unfortunately I don't have video of that but, it was pretty cute. He still creeps better than he crawls..He also enjoys cruising. This morning he went from our brown chair to one ottoman and then the other, he was quite pleased with his accomplishment. This makes me nervous though, he just wants to keep going everywhere. I guess I know how I'm going to get those nagging pounds off, chasing this guy all over the apartment! The little man is in his crib "sleeping". I checked on him 5 minutes ago, only to find him standing in his crib! Seems like nap time has turned into making laps around the crib time!

The beach excursion was pretty fun the other day. Sean ate more than his fair share of sand. By the fifth handful, you would think he would get the idea that sand just isn't tasty! He wasn't too pleased about the waves in the ocean. He'd sit there and as the wave washed over his belly, he'd suck in some air and kinda wimper. I guess if there's gonna be waves, hes wants to be the one making them.

Today my husband and I are taking off for a little getaway. We're quite excited about this. This will be the first time since Sean was born that we've been able to get away for a night. I think I have everything packed...guess I'll find out soon enough!

Now for the pics:

"Look at me Mommy! I'm cruisin'!"

"I'm as tall as the end table!"

Having a swingin' good time!

Caught in the Act!

Look who I found standing up in his crib this morning!! What a little monkey! I had a weird dream last night. I dreamt that Sean got 3 more teeth and they were all molars..so weird.

We're off to the beach this morning...Yippieee!

How Sean Gets Around and Happy Birthday Grampy Hope!

What a Boy!

Sean has had quite the day and I missed out on part of it...pooh. I was with him for the morning and did some video work of him creeping which I'll post. It was a lot fun and yet frustrating. He was creeping right along to get his camel on the ottoman and he was on his knees touching it and I thought, well that's probably as far as hes going to get so I'll stop there...no sooner had I stopped then Sean was on his feet, clutching the camel and grinning like a mad man!! This was my first time trying to get him on tape so hopefully further practice will help me!

Then this afternoon I had to work, so Grammie Peric came down to babysit. Sean loves having Grammie Peric come play with him! Not long after I left, Sean went down for his nap and about an hour and a bit later he was up again. Grammie dutifully went in to get him, when much to her amazement upon opening the door she found Sean happily standing up in his crib! I can't believe I missed this..I know there will probably be other times though. I'm glad that Grammie Peric was there for this amazing moment in Sean's life. Sean has been pulling himself up on things in our living room but I'd never found him standing in his crib! So cool.

This evening at bath time was another fun, if somewhat splashy milestone. Instead of putting Sean in his bath seat I decided to just let him sit in the tub sans seat. He LOVED IT! I've been having a hard time getting him into the seat lately, for as I would gently lower his squirming body over the seat, he would start pumping his legs like a freaked out frog. Then once his feet touched the base of the seat, he would lock his legs, pretty much making it a wrestling match to get him to bend..even just a little! Well, tonight was much different, he got to sit where he wanted and splash and splash and splash--until he found his reflection in the overflow drain. He just had to touch it, which made me a bit nervous as the faucet is just above it.. I must say that letting him do his own thing in the tub makes washing his hair and scrubbing in all his little crevices quite the production.

Reading to Elvis

You're probably wondering why I titled this post "reading to Elvis". Well, I think I've mentioned before that sometimes Sean will do this thing with his lips that is very Elvisesque..finally I caught it on camera! The reading part I got from Sean just looking at some books.

Sean is quickly knocking down milestone after milestone, another mother recently said that once they get creeping, crawling isn't far behind. Well he isn't crawling..yet but he is doing everything in his power to get that way! He's also figured out how to go from his belly to sitting on his bum. He seems quite pleased about this. I must say it is a lot of fun to watch him as he tries out new things, like getting on his front and getting his bum up in the air...pretty cute.

"Alright Mommy, I'm ready to read."

Elvis is in the building!!

"Okay Mom, so are you gonna read this to me or do I have to do this all by myself?!"

Going the Distance

Today has been a very fun day. Sean decided that he would creep through his exersaucer and then continue on in his adventure to the kitchen. This boy is moving! I'm very glad that Marko did some baby proofing this weekend! Then this afternoon Auntie Linda, Sean and I went to the pool at Victoria Park. Sean had a wonderful time. He splashed and did his best to "swim." I can hardly believe all the things he's able to do!

Look at Sean Go!

And this is how you swim.

"hmmm, how do I get into this?"

"Think I kinda like it in here.."

Baby Beach Bum

Today we went to the beach. Different beach and this time Sean really seemed to enjoy it. It's a smaller beach and the tide was out so there were these great little pools of warm water that he could play in. We went with Laura and Jennie, we had a great time watching Sean splash in the water and try out some mud pie! Yum!

Our Last Day with Abby

Yesterday was our last day with Abby, and what a wonderful day it was. We went to the beach and had a really good time. Neither Abby or Sean seemed all that pleased with the temperature of the ocean water, but they were more than happy to sit on the beach blanket and play with toys.

It has been quite the learning experience having Abby with us for this past week. I've learned a lot about being organized and how much you have to bring with you when you go on an outing with two little ones! While we did have a good time having Abby here, it is nice to take the hecticness of life down a notch. One baby is plenty of work for me.

This is Matthew, he was a student of mine at Grace. He really wanted to hold Sean.
