So How Was Your Day?!

Mine was all kinds of crazy! It started out quietly and uneventful but quickly ramped up in the excitement and eventful factor!!

Sean and I were watching some tv and I was nursing in Emma-Lyn when we heard some loud bangs and crashes in the outer room of our apartment but I didn't think anything of it since we hear a lot of weird noises anyways. But then Gerry started pounding on the door, so while I was still nursing Emma-Lyn I dashed across the kitchen and opened the door to see no Gerry but the fire extinguisher on the floor. At that point I heard Sharon from our back stairs yelling to get out and as I turned around I looked up into our bathroom to see flames coming out of the fan in our shower! I quickly turned about grabbed Sean by the hand and ran for the stairs (I was still nursing Emma-Lyn) We got upstairs and out on the deck before we stopped running.

Thankfully Gerry was quick enough to put the fire out with the extinguisher but we did end up calling in the fire department to inspect our bathroom. Before he arrived my friend Melissa and her daughter arrived (she thought she was coming over for a playdate when really she was about to find herself in the middle of some good old fashioned chaos!) We played out on the swing set and while we were sitting there the Purolator truck showed up and brought me my free sippy cups from Avent...of course they would come today!

After that the insurance agent showed up as did Servicemaster. I soon found out that they would be tearing down all our ceiling tiles, putting in a new bathtub and repainting all the walls! So the fun part of this entire experience is that we get to pick new colours for the apartment! I gave my statement to the insurance agent and tried to make sense of the day. Grammie came and took Sean out for the better part of the day and I stayed put while we figured out what was going on.

Servicemaster was quite quick and started today. To help keep costs down I'm helping to clean our apartment. We don't have renter's insurance so anything that has happened to our own stuff is our responsibility to clean. Thankfully it doesn't look like it's going to cost all that much. While they are fixing our apartment we'll be living upstairs with our landlord and landlady who just happen to be the most wonderful people in the world!

Sean was excited to stay with Gerry and Sharon so that was good and he seems to be settling in pretty good.

In other news, tomorrow Emma-Lyn gets her vaccinations. So I'll have more info to share with you tomorrow sometime!

The Photo Scavenger Hunt

So here are the pictures we took for the photo scavenger hunt we went on. My team was made up of Marko, Troy and Nick and mid-way through the game we picked up Jana.

Here is our first stop:
We needed a picture with the team (minus the one taking the shot) with a plane.

This was our shot for, 'Wow, I can't believe we all fit in here!' This is me, Troy and Marko all crammed into the trunk of Troy's Jeep Patriot.

This was our shot of us with someone in uniform...Taken at the airport.

This is our picture with an animal. This is the Cow's Ice Cream Cow (If you didn't know, not only is Cow's an Island company but they were also voted the best ice cream in Canada.)

This is the team dancing with a tourist.

Here we are doing what the sign says...paying for our parking ticket at the airport.

This is our, 'can you find us?' shot.

Next we have our 'Island Moment.' Gotta love Anne!

This was our 'funniest thing we could find' shot.

Next we hit the local Leon's and sat on one of their couches.

This was our 'interesting perspective' shot. It's kinda hard to see our reflection what with all the writing on the door but still kinda cool.

Finally a shot with Jana in it! Here we are on a fire truck.

And then we went to the Scotiabank to get a shot of us going through the drive-thru.

Here we are at the Best Western for our picture taken 'in a hotel lobby' and got extra points for getting an employee in the shot. Funny thing is that all the teams came to this same hotel to get this picture! The employees must have thought we were nuts!!

Here we are pumping gas for someone who owns a mini-van..To say the guy who owns this one was a little weirded out by our request would be an understatement!

And finally our shot of 'making ourselves look small. This is taken in front of Province House.

Summertime Fun!

I'm loving the warm weather! Well, I'm loving it when I'm close to large bodies of water that I can run into so I can cool off! The humidity isn't fun, but what is fun is going to the beach with Grammie and kiddies. Both Sean and Emma-Lyn enjoyed puttering about in the water. Emma-Lyn was squealing with delight as Grammie walked her about in the water. Sean LOVED just playing in the water, he never even wanted to get out to dry off and play in the sand for awhile.

Today was a really fun day. Grammie came over to look after the kids while Marko and I joined the gang in a game of photo scavenger hunt! There were three teams and we were given lists of stuff to photograph. We only had an hour to do it and there were 23 things that we could possibly get done. I think my favourite picture was getting a picture of our team pumping gas into some guy's mini van!! So funny. I don't have the pictures to include in this post but maybe tomorrow I'll get them up!

Here's Emma-Lyn playing with her kitchen... "Look Mommy, I'm gonna cook stuff just like you!!"
"So how do you work this contraption anyways?!!"

It's a fisherman's life for me...

Sean loved playing with Grammie in the water!

This is the view from Tracadie Beach.

Just thought that this was a cool shot.

Mr. July

And finally, the girls having a whale of a time or should I say giraffe?!

So now here are a whole wack of pictures of people! There really isn't any rhyme or reason to the order of the photos but I still hope you enjoy them and the captions.

Emma-Lyny just rolling around on the carpet. Our first day there she revealed her rolling prowess by not only rolling front to back but back to front as well...then she decided that she'd like to have her two front bottom teeth pop through while we were there...Exciting times they were!

Our first night and day there were so very cold!! I mean we even had to turn the furnace on if you can believe that. The rest of our stay we needed fans and trips to the beach to keep cool.

Sean and Grammie hanging out at the beach. Sean had so much fun at the beach. He loves to throw rock in the water and splash people.

So what do you think? Pretty sweet eh? I'm thinking this should be my profile pic in Facebook...

Or maybe this one instead, he looks far cuter in it than me!! :)

Another thing Sean loves is ICE CREAM!! He just sat quietly and gobbled the whole thing up!

He loves rough housing with his Auntie Linda!!

While we spent most of our time at the farmhouse we did get a couple of weekend passes to come in town and hang with the gang. This is at Mike's birthday party at Boston Pizza. Danielle seems ever so pleased with her magnetized cutlery!!

Summer isn't summer until you've had a bonfire at the beach!! Good times!

Sean is all set to mow the lawn. I'm very thankful for the headphones after cutting the lawn! There was a LOT of lawn to cut!

Would you just look at this cutie pie?!!

Got it made in the shade!

Doesn't she just look as pleased as punch?!! She loved playing ball with her big brother!

High Five!!

And now we topple over...

Got a fire? Emma-Lyn will come to your rescue and drool all over it until it's out!

And so this is a funny picture! Ever stand in line at a restaurant and start up a conversation with the people in line with you? Yeah? Well that's what happened here. The two ladies and I just started gabbing up a storm to the point that we exchanged phone numbers and emails!! Such a fun night!

And only in PEI do see this... A tractor parked at a Sobeys! We found out after that the owner (a rather elderly gentleman) had his driver's licence taken away but they can't take away his tractor licence...Now that's being resourceful!

The Scenery

Just thought I'd do some photo album type posts for ya and so now I'll start with the scenery from our stay up East!

An Iris...
A bald that was cool to see flying overhead! We also saw blue herons, beavers, bats, a family of ducks, and humming birds!

This is a blue heron that flew out into the road ahead of us...and apparently took a dump or so Marko tells me anyways.

Pond reflections.

What a glorious sky!

Just thought this was cool.

It's a really big pond.

and more purddy flowers...
