So Many Things to Post About...

I really have to try to get more posts out on a regular basis rather than trying to play catch up and write a really long post.

We've been pretty busy going places and doing things. We took the kids to the Toy Factory in New Glasgow and they thought it was just wonderful! We could barely get them out of there. Thankfully there's a little playground out back and they enjoyed playing there for a while.

Friday was the Gold Cup and Saucer Parade and kids had a blast. Both Sean and Emma-Lyn seemed mesmerized by the whole thing and just sat and watched so contentedly. It was a beautiful day for a parade too!

On Saturday we went over to Karen and Rodney's for a pot luck BBQ and campfire. It was wonderful!! So much food! I ate way too much! Karen made a delicious seafood chowder (she even sent me home with some) and there was sweet and sour meatballs that Tammy brought (again I got some take home!) and the BBQ chicken was soooo yummy! Marko and I had brought Lamb hamburgers and those were okay but I don't think I'd get that again. Oh, and Karen made a most tasty salsa and chips! YUM! The kids loved running around and checking out the campfire.

On Sunday we went to Grace Baptist church instead of the Bible Chapel since our church closed due to the incoming hurricane which turned out to be not much more than an overly rainy day. I enjoyed the service at Grace and it was nice to see people I hadn't seen in awhile too. Sean was also pleased with the nursery there :)

I don't remember which day it was but Grammie Peric took Sean on a ride on the Harbour Hippo. It's a vehicle that drives on land and goes in the water. Sean loved it!

Today Marko had the day off and after we took Emma-Lyn to the doctor's (we're going to have to take her to get blood work done sometime to try to figure out what might be up with her bowels) we headed to Avonlea Village as an event put on by the homeschoolers. It was a really fun day. And it was extra sweet since we only had to pay 20 dollars to get in and normally it costs 22 dollars for just one adult!

The kids had a great time going through the village. We went on a wagon ride and both Sean and Emma-Lyn went on a pony ride. They were great at it too, I thought Emma-Lyn might not be so interested but she was neighing at the pony and seemed quite pleased with herself. They had great music that we all enjoyed and we got to dress up in period costumes and take pictures. And can you believe that I forgot my camera?!!! Thankfully Grammie had hers and as soon as they're developed I hope to get some up on the ol' blog. The kids really looked so sweet in their little outfits!

This weekend looks pretty busy too. And that being said I'm not entirely sure what our plans are...Friday we were going to go out for supper for my birthday but we may bump that up to tomorrow night and then we're supposed to go to Brian and Bonnie's for a end of summer get together with the gang but there might be another hurricane coming on Sunday which was the day we were going to go visit my folks but if the storm comes then we'll head over on the Saturday instead. So I guess we're sort of in a wait and see kinda phase. Fun!

Now for some random pictures:
I just thought this was sooo adorable. They were about to cross the parking lot at the Toy Factory so we told them to hold hands and they did! :)

This is part of the playground behind the Toy Factory. They actually do make some of the toys right on the property.

This is Super Grover road surfing in the Gold Cup and Saucer Parade.

Waiting for the parade to begin.

They finally fixed up the playground in our subdivision and this is what it looks like now. Sean was quite impressed!

So Busy These Days!! :)

We've had lots of fun and exciting things to do these days! There was Nick and Danielle's wedding on Saturday, a boat ride and family gathering on Sunday, a Homeschooling meeting on Monday evening and then a trip out to see the Skys perform on Tuesday!!

Nick and Danielle's wedding was pretty much a full day thing. Marko met up with the fellas for breakfast and then came home to get changed to head up East for the wedding. It was a lovely wedding and it was nice to have a few refreshments before heading back into town for the reception. Sean and Emma-Lyn spent the day with Grammie. Marko and I had a great time at the reception sitting with our friends. To get the bride and groom to kiss you had to answer a question and if you got it right then they would kiss, if you got it wrong your table had to sing a love song and then the couple would kiss. We got our question right but we REALLY wanted to sing a song...Marko had one all picked out and we were really pumped to sing it so when another table messed up we offered to sing for them. We sang "Hooked On a Feeling" The girls sang the Ooga chuckas and the boys sang the verses! It was hilarious! We got a lot of comments about our song! After the reception there was a dance and Marko and I got down with our bad selves..hehehe...So much fun!!!

On Sunday we got an invite to go out on Marko's uncle Brian's boat. It was soooo wonderful! The kids loved it and it was so very relaxing! Both Sean and Emma-Lyn tried out the captain's chair...Sean found that it was much to his liking! As soon as we got docked we jumped in the car to head over to Jennie's Grammie's place for supper. They had ordered in KFC and there was lots to go around. There was also cake and ice cream for dessert. We were celebrating August birthdays and Steve and Jen's anniversary. It was really great to get together with family and just enjoy ourselves.

On Monday night Marko and I headed out to a homeshooling meeting. It was very informative and we really enjoyed it. I hope to start homeschooling Sean this fall. I'm not sure how long I'll homeschool our children but I'd at least like to try it out. This meeting helped us understand what was involved and get in contact with other homeschoolers.

On Tuesday evening we took our Bible study group out to the Sky's Performance Centre. The Skys are really good friends of ours and come to the study through the fall and winter when they're available. We brought Sean with us and Brian and Bonnie brought Abby with them. The kids had a BLAST! They were so well behaved and so rediculously cute! There was a song called the song of innocence and at that moment Abby and Sean were standing on their chairs holding hands...then Abby leaned in and planted a big wet one on Sean's cheek!! So sweet!

In other news, Emma-Lyn is a bit of mess these days. She has some sort of infection in her eyes which I am now treating with eye drops... Do you have any idea how difficult it is to get an 18 month old to take eye drops?!! Then there's the rash behind her ears which I am treating with medicated cream and finally there's her bowel movements...They're still pretty runny and so many different colours that the doctor suggested we take her off dairy for a few weeks to see if that makes any difference. So now she's drinking soy milk and eating soy yogurt...and really seems to enjoy it. Here's hoing all this stuff helps her to get better.

Now for some pictures.

Captain Sean hard at work!

This was the best part of the performance! Marko and Troy were pulled on stage to try doing a Newfie dance!!

Intermission time for the kiddos, time to climb on Brian!

And here they are holding hands...so cute!

Nick and Danielle and their wedding party.

Don't ya just love my new rock?!!

Our happy table, from left to right, Bonnie, Jennie, Malcom, Marko and I.

At one point at the reception they had an open mike time and I mentioned the time that I had toilet papered Nick's car and would you just look at what happened to our car that night?!! Too funny!

I Can't Believe I Forgot to Post About This...

A surprise visit from Melissa and Menita!! It was so wonderful to see them! While Sean and Menita played in the pool and the swing set, Melissa and I got caught up on life and pregnancies. She is due with her 2nd in November! It was a short but wonderful visit! Thanks Melissa for popping in on your vacation!

Another Fun and Full Weekend

Yes, it was yet another fairly full weekend for us! Marko went out on Friday night for guys game night while I stayed in with the kiddos. Then on Saturday morning we had the car in for an oil change and as soon as we got it back we quickly loaded up and headed over to the Sunday School Picnic. There's a great park right beside our church which was perfect for team games. After stuffing our faces full of hotdogs and chips and juice, everyone headed over to the park to watch the kids play games. Sean wasn't too sure about this at first and was pretty hesitant to get in on the action. Thankfully there are some really get older boys who really seem to enjoy Sean and they encouraged him to play and even be on their team! Sean was thrilled! He really seemed to enjoy himself and have a good time playing all the games.

We then headed home to drop off the kiddos with Grammie Peric while Marko and I headed out to Montague. Things haven't been going too quickly with the house in Lower Montague so we thought it wouldn't hurt to look around for a home ourselves, seeing as October only gets closer and closer. We looked at 4 different houses and one of them we really like. We might look at a couple others before making any hard and fast decisions. We were fairly late in getting home and Grammie Peric already had the kids bathed and fed when we got home. I was ever so thankful for that, I was running out of energy wasn't exactly looking forward to bath time and whipping up supper.

After supper I headed out to Canoe Cove Christian Camp to take in some of the Maritime Christian Fellowship Conference. It was really great to see so many old friends, if for only a brief moment.

On Sunday my family came over and we had a great visit with them too! The kids just love playing with their Grampa, especially when he lets them drench him with water out by the kiddy pool! I don't have any pictures of that yet, I'm hoping that Auntie Karina will send some along soon!! *hint, hint*

Today Grammie Peric, the kids and I went to Beaconsfield (a historic house in Charlottetown) for a children's show. It was called Once Upon a Rhyme. It was really good, I think I had just as much fun as the kids did. At one point the actors asked for some audience answers to questions and Sean got to have his answer used in part of their play...He was mighty pleased about that. And you couldn't wipe the smile off his face when he got to meet all the characters after the show was over.

Now for the pictures:

Sean pulling a little boat behind him. The object was to get the boat which had little balls in it around the pylon and back to your team without loosing any of the little balls.

Here they had to throw their pool noodle to the pylon and back, Sean had a bit more difficulty with this one but still had a big smile on his face.

I just love that she has her hand on her hip in this shot! :) Wonder where she gets that from ;)

And here Sean and his partner had to balance a ball on their facecloth while running to the pylon and back.

On another excursion with Grammie Peric we went downtown by Province House. The kids loved the fountains...Looks like Emma-Lyn is getting a big drink!

And here's the kiddos hamming it up on Victoria Row.

And now just some black and white shots that I took that I thought were kinda cool.
