New Routines...

This fall marks a new beginning for us. We have started our journey in homeschooling! And so far it has been a LOT of fun! I had no idea there was such a great support group here on the Island and they have been such a wonderful resource and help to us already! Sean is really keen to do his school work every day, he even wants to work on the weekends!

We don't do too much just simple little lessons in numbers and letters and using a pencil. He's already learned so much and enjoys getting out his school books and adding to his number book that we're making together. I have to say that having this teaching time with Sean is a major highlight of my days! I love coming up with little lesson plans and activities for us to do together. We usually have class time after lunch when Emma-Lyn is down for her nap so I can give Sean my full attention. We spend some time at the kitchen table working together then we have some activities we complete in his room. Pretty basic stuff but a lot of fun to watch him gain confidence and develop interest in these things.

Today was almost like a school day since we spent the morning at the Atlantic Veterinary College's Open House. There was so much to see and do! Animals to look at, different displays to check out and activities to do. The kids loved it! We even brought their little puppies to take to the Teddy Bear Clinic. They got to take their puppies to one of the Vet students to have them checked over. Sean's puppy needed a band-aid and some medicine, Emma-Lyn wouldn't let the student put the band-aid on but insisted on the meds (a little pill container filled with Skittles!)

Here are some pics from the day:

Emma-Lyn a future Vet?!! :)

Or maybe Sean will become a Vet.

Looks like Daddy might be moonlighting as a Vet. ;)

Here they are at the clinic. Such concern on Emma-Lyn's face!

Checking out the Albino snake. Both kids ended up patting it.

Up close and personal with a goat.

Checking out the animals.

Baby Bump Pic at 35 Weeks

Just thought I'd throw this up there in case you were wondering what I looked like at this stage in the game.

I'm feeling pretty good, tired and a little achy but for the most part I feel good. Had a doctor's appointment today and it went well, this starts the weekly visits until baby pop time! :)

It's That Time Again...

Time to post your guess in the Peric Baby Pool!!! YAY!! Who knows, your guesses could make you an instant winner!! A winner of what, I'm not sure of at this point but when the time comes it'll be worth it!!

So without further ado, here's what we want to know:

Date of birth including time
Weight
Length
We already know that it's going to be a boy so you don't have to worry about that one. If you'd like to include a name choice that would be cool too but not necessary to win.

Estimated Date of Arrival is October 24th...

Alright everybody get guessing and posting those guesses and we'll see who knows best!! :)

Time to Update the Ol' Blog Again...

I have been so slack with this blog!! ARGH!!

Anyhoo, we've been having fun as a family and I have some pictures and stories to share.

Over the Labour day weekend Marko and I got to getaway for an entire day, just the two of us and it was heavenly!! We headed out to the old Rainbow Valley Park which is now nature trails and trees and had a lovely little picnic out there. Marko reminisced about the good ol RV days and I nodded and smiled a lot. I had been there once when it was a theme park so I don't have much emotionally invested in the place.

After our picnic we hit the Cavendish boardwalk to see what kind of deals they had on and Marko bought me a cute pair of earings for just two bucks :) By this time I was pretty much at the end of my energy level and we went for a lesuirely drive into Summerside. We looked at some of the shops at Spinakers Landing. Then we were off to Gentleman Jims for supper. Wow, the service there was incredible!! And the food was super yummy!! We were very pleased and stuffed to the gills, so we headed back home but not before we stopped down at Victoria Park for some ice cream...Yum! It was a wonderful day!

On Monday we all, even Grammie went to King's Castle Provincal Park for the day. The kids had a blast and we did too! It was a lot of fun to watch them go nuts on all the slides and climbing places. We even went down to the beach where Emma-Lyn was the most adventerous and was all about just going right on in and was beconing for the rest of us to come with her...I couldn't resist so I took her up on the challenge and waded in a ways with her. We had the most delicious and cheap ice cream there too! Again a delight to watch the kids eat and enjoy. Can't wait to go back there again next year! We stopped for supper at a restaurant called Higher Ground, we went there quite a bit last year so it was nice to stop in at least once this year.

I have a lot of pictures to share of those two days. We're all doing well and now I'm trying to get prepared for Peric baby #3's arrival. I have to sort through all Sean's old stuff and get some sort of sleeping arrangement set up in our room. Both baby and I are doing well, I'm finding I get more tired a lot more easier this time around and sleeping is an effort in itself...well mostly the rolling over part is a pain but I'm coping and managing well! :)

Now for the pics:

Marko and I at our little picnic place. :)

Emma-Lyn fell off this and cried her little heart out, I took to Grammie for consoling but she would have none of it, she went right back to it and proceded to get back on all by herself!

"Look Ma, no hands!!!"

Hanging out in the water...

Just testing the waters first..

There were a few storybook characters throughout the park and Sean liked to climb on them.

Emma-Lyn on the other hand wanted to hug them all.

Sean the mighty climber...

And this is what he was climbing, he climb all the way over the top and down the other side and back up again!

She LOVES the swing.

Now here are some pictures of our time at Avonlea Village. We went with the local group of homeschoolers. We got in at a great price and we all had a super time there too.

I tell you, this girl is fearless! She pretty near jumped on the pony and seemed like she had been riding all her life!

Sean also really enjoyed the pony ride.

Aren't they just the cutest kids you have ever seen?!

Busy with their school work.

Pretty sweet as a red head eh?!
And what about my boy...such a sweetie.

Doesn't just scream "I'm so impressed!!"

Yeah...so don't think I was meant to be a red head... :)

Had Yet Another Birthday!

Yes, August 31 has come and gone and I am yet another year older! Woo Hoo!! On Thursday we (that is Marko, Grammie Peric and I) went to Dundee Arms for supper and it was scrumptious! Marko and I both had a steak and baked potato with salad! Yummers. Jennie babysat for us so when we came home we all had some cake and ice cream!

On Saturday we headed for the mainland to spend the day with my family. It was another lovely visit. We went for a lesuirely stroll and spent some time around the pond pestering the fish by throwing apples in the water. The kids loved it! Even had time for an impromtu photo session. The drive home was a little more exciting than I had anticipated. Tropical Strom Danny was coming through and brought heaps of rain with him which made driving quite the challenge by times!

On Sunday evening I went out with the gals to a little place calle Chocolate Elements. It was AMAZING!! We had intended on going to Cafe Diem but they were already closed and am I ever happy they were or else we would never have noticed this gem of a restaurant. We shared 6 different chocolate entrees and boys oh boys were they ever good! I certainly hope to go back there more often now that I know that it's there.

On Monday Marko took me out to Pat n' Willys for fajitas!! YUMMMY! I received lots of lovely gifts for my bday too. My folks gave me a beautiful pair of pjs and a Superstore gift certificate, Grammie Peric gave me a new Bible (The Message translation...I'm really enjoying it) and two other books, and Marko gave me a new watch (which I have needed since the first of the month) and a lovely outfit.

Emma-Lyn waiting to throw her apple in the pond.

Our men folk. :)

And here we are indulging in the most scrumptious chocolate ever!
