Back Into Winter....Ughhhh

I know I shouldn't complain, it is January and it's supposed to be cold and snowy but, we've had such nice warmish weather that it just plain spoiled me! I miss the warmishness... and the lack of snow.

On Friday we got a butt load of snow!! Heaps and heaps of the fluffy white stuff! Thankfully it wasn't enough to stop Jennie and the kids and I from going to the MCC lectures in Cornwall. We had gone on Thursday and really enjoyed it and I was really looking forward to this session! The speaker was awesome and just so down to earth! The snow did stop my hubby from making it to work though. Out in the country the snow was blowing a bit more and the roads were not as good. I was glad to have him home. He did work from home though so it was nice that we were able to get out of his hair and let him concentrate. We extended his peaceful time by taking the kids to Scrawny Ronnies for lunch, which they thoroughly enjoyed!

We got home around 2 and the kids had quiet time for an hour and a half and just an hour after that Marko was done work and we were right into the weekend! :) It has been a nice quiet weekend. Friday night I went to the evening lectures with our friend the time it was over the weather had gotten much worse and I was very thankful that Troy drives a 4 by 4 vehicle!!

On Saturday we did our groceries and puttered around the house. That evening Marko went out to play games with some friends and Jennie came over here. We watched Sherlock Holmes...such a great movie! I love the cinematography! We also played Rummikub.

Today was a pretty quiet Sunday with just going to church and having our traditional waffles for lunch! Yummy! I especially like it since this is Marko's specialty!

Lotsa lovin for the big clown himself! :)

And I Have Slacked Off Once Again...

We had friends in on the weekend and we played a few games. My favourite was playing Pictionaryman. You actually draw on this plastic dude and he comes with props that you can draw on too!

Nate went in for his 2 month doctor's appointment on Monday and the lad is doing well! He is 14 pounds 4 ounces and 24 and 1/4 inches long and healthy as a horse.

That evening I went to a meeting at church about the music ministry. I'd really like to get back to singing, especially if it's in a choir. It was a great meeting as it involved having supper, which just happened to be prepared by a chef (he goes to our church) who works at the Culinary Institute!! We had squash soup to was so yummy! And then tender stuffed chicken drizzled with sauce, steamed veggies and cheesy potatoes...Oooh it was sooooo good! I was so stuffed and then they came out with the cheesecake! YUM! Unfortunately I was so stuffed I couldn't finish my cheesecake. The meeting itself was great and a lot of fun! Afterwards I picked up Jennie and headed over to Carolyn's for a gab fest which was wonderful as well!!

Today the kiddos and I went to Grace Christian School. It was the first time I've been back since Nate was born. I was speaking at the Elementary chapel service, which I always love! The kids there are so much fun! They really enjoyed meeting Nate too!

Tomorrow and Friday I hope to take in some of the Lectureships put on by the Maritime Christian College. And Auntie Linda is going to pop by to cut Sean's hair and give mine a trim before she heads out west for the next couple of months!

And now just a few sweet pics of Nator Tator...

Don't ya just love that smile?!!

And his more thoughtful look...

And more of that handsome smile!

My Baby Girl Turned Two!!

How could it be that my sweet little girl is now two?!! She is just so much fun and so sweet! This evening at supper, not only did she repeatedly lean over to give me hugs and kisses, she also held me while she quietly prayed over me! It was so lovely and her cute and emphatic, "Amen" is heavenly!

We had a great day celebrating with her. I had decorated the living room in pink balloons and white streamers, which she seemed quite pleased with. She and Sean spent some quality time bursting some of the balloons this evening :)

We went to Swiss Chalet for lunch with Grammie Peric and Auntie Linda. Emma-Lyn wasn't too keen on her hotdog and some of it landed on the floor but still it was fun. After lunch we came back here for cake and presents. Sean was so funny, he wanted to do everything for Emma-Lyn. He wanted to open the presents, play with the presents and blow out the candles. Emma-Lyn was having none of that! We got her a stroller, a little tea set, a pair of Princess slippers and her own toy box. Auntie Linda gave her one of her dollies that she used to play with when she was little as well as a highchair for it. Grammie Peric gave her a really nice magnetic drawing pad as well as some other nice gifts. Gramma and Grampa Hope gave her a nice outfit and of course, Smarties!! She was overjoyed with the Smarties discovery and wanted them opened post haste!

I thought it was funny how much Sean wanted to play with Emma-Lyn's stroller and the tea set. He insisted on making tea for everyone. :)

Now for the pictures...I'll have to get some of the videos up too.

Nothing quite like a Smartie smile!

Mmmm, birthday cake!

Here she is with her doll and highchair, wearing her pretty pink princess slipers and the shirt that Auntie Linda got her as well as the butterfly headband we got her.

Sean and Emma-Lyn playing with the magnetic drawing pad.

And I just thought this was a cute pic!

Time For A Check Up

Both Sean and Emma-Lyn had doctor's appointments today. It was a fun family adventure! It seems with H1N1 scare all dr's offices and waiting rooms everywhere have been purged of all play toys which can make waiting with toddlers a very hair raising experience! This time we came prepared with sticker and colouring books and the kids had a great time!

They were both great for Dr. Slysz as he examined them. Sean now weighs in at 44 pounds and is a little over 3 feet 5 inches tall! Emma-Lyn is weighing in at 29 pounds and is 2 feet and 8 inches. So by all counts Sean is a big boy and Emma-Lyn while small she is mighty!! (She's only in the 25th percentile for height but in the 75th percentile for weight!)

Before we went to see Dr.Slysz we went over the procedure with Sean and Emma-Lyn just so that wouldn't be too weirded out. So after all our explaining and answering of questions, Sean made a bold statement. He was going to tell Dr. Slysz that Jesus loves him. I thought that was really sweet. At the office I thought Sean was going to be shy but nope, after Dr. Slysz had finished with him he stood beside him and told him that! So sweet.

So both Sean and Emma-Lyn are happy and healthy kiddos! We are so blessed!

Eeek, I Missed A Day,,,

Well, I'm not really all that bothered by missing a day of posting but it sure was great while it lasted. :)

Things here are grand! :) Last evening Jennie and I went walking (Nate in tow) and afterwards crashed at her place for a little coffee and some quality chatting.

This morning was ladies Bible study at my church and it was so encouraging!!! The material is interesting and life applicable and the ladies are all such a delight, and also so encouraging.

This afternoon we enjoyed a visit from Jennie with a little more coffee and more chatting :) Then we made a run out to her sister's place and had a lovely visit out there.

Tomorrow Sean and Emma-Lyn have their annual check ups. I can hardly believe that my little girl is going to be 2 on Saturday!!

He loves to colour and doodle and apparently likes the crayon behind the ear look.

And Emma-Lyn not to be out done, steps it up a notch!! :)

And my sweet baby boy wearing his blanket camo outfit! :)

This Has Gotta Be A New Record For Me...

I haven't posted this often in a very long time!! It's nice to find the time and actually post a few pictures and share some of the things that are going on around here. I have some videos I'll have to post sometime too. I'm sure you'd love to see Sean in his Christmas concert.

Today I just have a couple pictures that I thought you'd all enjoy. The kids were ridiculously cute today and the camera was handy so I took a few fun shots. :)

Sean and Emma-Lyn cuddlin' up on the couch together.

My three sweet men!
Sean really wanted to hold Nate himself. Nate looks Ginormous in this picture!

And this is my favourite shot! VICTORY!!!

Well, Here I Am Again! Can You Believe It?!!

Wow, no posts for long stretches at a time and now this!! It is another quiet evening here, 2 out of 3 kiddos are in bed, the other is here at my feet happily sitting in his bouncy seat. Marko is out with our friends and the house is peaceful and quiet, a great time to sit down and blog.

Last night I got to go out with the girls and I had a wonderful time stuffing my face full of chocolates and drinking Pepsi. And then we decided it would be a good idea to try out the Wii...specifically the Wii Fit...this may have been our undoing. Two of us found out that we are beyond our fitness years by a fairly large margin! (Apparently I'm a 33 year old living in a 45 year old's body!!! EEEK!) And I found out that I have at least 15 pounds to lose. I wanted to lose some of this left over baby weight anyways but wow, didn't know it was that bad! :) So guess what I'm doing right this minute? Eating choclate...yep might as well put on a pound or two more and then get down to the business of getting the whole lot of them of right?!!! :)

Jennie and I had already taken up walking again together before we found out how terribly unfit we were, but now we have some great motivation to drop those pesky pounds. We had been to the track and I took Nate with me and put him in the snuggly as we made our rounds. He slept peacefully as I walked and even attempted to use the stationary bike (I do not recommend using the bike while wearing your baby...kept bumping his little bum with my knee.)

Today was a busy day just doing grocery shopping and such. It is interesting trying to do these things with three kids instead of just two...really have to have eyes on the back of your head to keep track of everyone. I'm thankful that Nate can't get around on his own yet!

It's breakfast time and Sean is all smiles!

Emma-Lyn on the other hand, felt that her regular toddler spoon was a bit on the small side and went for something a bit bigger...
Apparently it works quite well if a bit awkward.

Just a Quick Update

I took Nate in for his 2 month vaccines today and he did really well. He only cried a bit when he got the three needles and then settled right down. The nurse weighed and measured him first. He now weighs 13 pounds 4 ounces and measures 23 and 3/4 inches long! Such a big fella. Just thought you'd like to know :)

Finding Moments and Making the Most of Them

It's another quiet moment right now so I thought I'd post again! Thank you Sassy_Canuck for reading this blog and posting your nice to know that people are still reading and looking for updates. :)

The kiddos and I had a fun day. Emma-Lyn went swimming with Auntie Linda this morning which she really enjoyed! Meanwhile, Sean and I did some school time together. We started a new learning game using the Scrabble tiles. I've really enjoyed playing Scrabble on Facebook so to play a fun mini game with Sean was great! I've already got plans on how to make special homemade board for this too. :)

This afternoon Sean, Emma-Lyn and I had a super fun time playing Hide and Seek. Sean is getting quite good at it while Emma-Lyn hasn't quite caught on to the concept. As soon as I finish saying, "Ready or not, you shall be caught!" She's jumping out of her hiding spot just squealing with delight. Then she comes with me to go find Sean.

This fall Sean joined Cubbies, it's the youngest age group for Awana. He was a little late getting in so he had some catching up to do. Last night he was able to share the 7 verses and references he had memorized for his leader. She was impressed that he knew them so well and their references. He is quite a bright little lad to be sure! :) I'm so proud. And today I got to sew his little badges on his vest. :)

Tonight I went over to Jennies with Nate in tow and had a fun time chatting and playing Rummikub...another fun game to get addicted to and I might be able to play with Sean to some degree. I think he'd really like it since numbers have been his favourite thing to learn.

So now the weekend is quickly coming up and I'm looking forward to hanging out with some of the gals tomorrow night (again with Nate in tow) and just having fun and drinking Pepsi! Or as we like to call it liquid life. :)

Here is Sean in his Cubbie vest and carrying his Cubbie bag, looks pleased as punch!

Little Nate sleeping awkwardly in his bouncy seat.

And here's my girl Emma-Lyn wearing her rain boots on the wrong feet while straddling the play kitchen in the middle of the living room! :) Gotta love her!

Look At Me, I'm Posting Again!!!

And it's not like I have a whole lot to write about but, Sean is away to Cubbies, Emma-Lyn is in bed and Nate is snoozing as well. I may as well take this opportunity to actually post something to the ol' blog. :)

Well we're half way through the work week after the holidays and things are going pretty well. Marko and I both have colds and Emma-Lyn is just getting over hers. I seem to be losing my voice at the moment but otherwise I feel fine. Marko is feeling a little worse for wear but then he has a long commute to work on slushy roads which probably doesn't help.

I got a new cookbook from my sister in law and have already tried out one of the recipies. It's a sugar cookie recipe and it's much better than my old one. It made a lot of dough!! It wasn't until the kiddos and I were cutting out the cookies that I realized that the recipe made ONE HUNDRED cookies!!! I didn't end up making that many. I must get more cookie cutters though! :)

I've also managed to fix up some of our furniture as it seems a fair amount of it is falling apart at the seams! I sewed the arm of the recliner (which the kids seemed to enjoy pulling the stuffing out of. I also patched up a small hole on our blue couch and sewed all the little holes on the ottoman cushion! It's great to be so productive and finally do things that so badly needed being done! :) You know what else is nice? To actually write a lesiurely post on here. I like that too! :)

I finally put Nate in an outfit rather than a sleeper! And my does the lad look so grown up and super sweet!! :)

I think he's gonna be another thumb sucker. Sean wasn't one but Emma-Lyn is.

He is quite the smily guy and starting to giggle these days.

Pretty handsome fella if I do say so myself! :)

This is at Grammie MacKinnons on New Years day. From left to right are: Matthew, Savana (baby), Zoey, Zach, Emma-Lyn and Sean.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Welcome 2010! Here's hoping I'm able to blog at least once week every week of the year!! :)

We had a wonderful Christmas and had a great time with friends for New Year's Eve.

Sean and Emma-Lyn were quite excited about Christmas this year, Sean especially so. He kept wanting me to tell him about Christmas and what exactly was going to happen in the morning. Every morning he wanted to know if this was the one when he got to open his stocking! :) They both loved the Christmas tree and all the pretty lights and decorations. We didn't bother putting the presents under the tree until Christmas Eve and the kiddos were in bed, figured the temptation might be too much for them.

We went out a few times to look at all the different light displays. There is quite a spectacular display in North Rustico. Supposedly you can see it from space, National Lampoon's Christmas has nothing on this place!! The kiddos loved it!

Some funny points of the holidays: While I was preparing our Christmas Eve crock pot lasagna dinner I found out that I had no beef and so sent Marko out to get some...on Christmas Eve! Poor fella, but he did well and while in Christmases past we've had a turkey given to us we thought maybe this year we weren't getting one and so Marko picked up a chicken to be sure we had something to carve into on Christmas day. Well he wasn't home 10 minutes when our 22 pound turkey was dropped off!!! It was HUGE! It barely fit in the fridge let alone the roasting pan. But come Christmas day it was absolutely delish!!

We did a lot of visiting over the holidays and enjoyed some time at home with good friends too. All in all we have truly enjoyed this Christmas and look forward to what awaits us this coming year! :)

This is just part of the place in North Rustico, their entire lawn is lit up with different decorations.

Our little Christmas tree awaiting the joy of Christmas morning.

Unloading their Christmas stockings. Yay, Sean got underwear! ;)

This is some serious business!!

Trying on her new pink pjs!

Our little Santa man! :)
