So Much to Blog About

There has just been so much to see and do that I'm just going to have to update this blog a whole lot more this week just to keep up with it all!

Now to go back a bit, On June 10 we headed over to Sackville, NB (my old stomping grounds!) to visit with my great friend, Mary Evans and her family. She and her family live in England and had come home to visit family and friends. I was ever so thrilled to fit into her schedule! Marko took the day off and we all made the trip over. The kids did great on the drive, we made one pit stop just before the bridge where the kids could go play on the playground for a bit before getting loaded back up. It was great to visit with Mary again! The last time we saw each other we both only had one son! And now here we are with three kids each! We had lunch and then it was off to the playground for some fun. I should mention that we were also able to meet up with our friends Kevin and Janice Stockall. (Kevin was the priest at the church I went to when I went to Mount Allison)

And here they all are! The kids had a great time! Sean really loved playing with Peter and was talking about him on the way home!

Another grand adventure for the us was heading to NS for Father's day or as my dad likes to call it, Happy Thank-You day. The back story for that is, a couple Father's Days back I had run right up to dad and wished him a Happy Father's Day and his response was, "Happy Thank-you day to you." And not to be outdone this year when I called him and wished him a Happy Father's Day, his reply was, "Thank you for wishing me a happy birthday!" I love my dad! :)

The kiddos love going on the boat and have fun wandering around the decks and meeting new people. Nate made quite a few friends and even invited himself to sit on one gentleman's lap! Too funny. We landed at the Grampa and Gramma's around 11 and enjoyed yakking before getting some lunch into us. Gramma Hope fired up the grill and we had yummy burgers for lunch!

Afterwards Nate and Marko had naps, Grampa Hope had an errand to run in town while the rest of us tried our luck at fishing! We had brought Sean's fishing pole but Gramma Hope also taught him how to make his own fishing pole. As seen below:
It would have been even better if Sean had paid attention but he was just so in love with Gramma and Grampa's dog that he barely listened. Once the poles were made we were off to find some worms:
Bet you never thought you'd ever see a picture of a can of worms on here now did ya?! Ha!

With the bait in the can and poles in hand it was time to find a suitable fishing hole...We tried a couple places but, didn't come up with much...At least the worms got a bath as seen here:
Apparently Gramma hope likes to go incognito when she fishes... While no fish were caught we did have a good time and once we got home we found some other interesting sights:

Like this here frog just before he jumped into the pond.

And this pretty butterfly...

And this tuckered out ol' dog. Sean LOVED playing with Trooper!

Sean and Nate loved playing with the water pump too. Emma-Lyn had gone inside by this time to help Gramma Hope set the table for supper.

My two goofballs on a bridge.

And my Nator Tator bringing joy and love to all he meets!!!

Sean Riding His Bike!!

Untitled from lauraperic on Vimeo.

Perseverance has paid off for Sean!! I am so happy and proud of him. He kept trying just about every day to take his bike out and try just balancing it, then trying just to push off on the pedals and now here he is all grown up riding his bike with confidence. Guess what he wants to tackle tomorrow -- He wants to try to do a wheelie!! That's my boy!! :)

One More Blog Post...

and I will have reached a significant number of posts!! Can you guess what that number might be? Not only will you receive a prize if you guess correctly but you will also have your very own name as the title of the next blog post! You have until next Monday to get your guess in! Just leave your guess in the comment section of this post. :)

In other news, this past week has been a busy one! We finally got our garage cleaned out! Marko and I have been hounding the previous owners' real estate agent to take care of this and finally the man has come through and I can actually see the entire inside of my garage! It is amazing. This has also meant that all the stuff we've had crammed in closets and such has now been moved to the garage!

Doesn't that look great! It was jam packed full of all the previous owner's crap plus some of our own stuff. I should have taken a picture before they came to clean up the joint but, alas, I forgot.

Now on this very same day my good friend Jackie came by for a wee visit and we had a grand time but, just as she was leaving Nate did a header off the front step onto the concrete! Yikes!! I rushed him right into the house and cleaned up the blood to take a better look at his head. After both Jackie and I checked it out we decided it would be best to head to the ER. Kindly she looked after Emma-Lyn and Sean while I took her car and drove to the hospital.

We got in fairly quickly and the doctor said that seeing as Nate didn't black out or have any other difficulties that the best course of action would be to keep the wound clean and bandaged and he should be good in no time. The doctor was right!! It has just about been a week and Nate is doing great, his cuts are all but gone and now we can take the bandage off his head. But here's a look at how the poor little guy looked the following day.

Quite the little bruiser! Sean and Emma-Lyn got a little freaked out when I left so quickly with Nate. Sean made things better by making an x-ray machine out of books and a cardboard box, using it to take care of his "hurt" stuffed puppy! Ya gotta love the imagination of kids! :)
