Good Bye 2016 and hello 2017! We enjoyed a very fun filled New Year's Eve.
We headed over to the MacGregor's to share in a pot luck with our church family. There was plenty to eat and wonderful company. We played some Bible Front Page Challenge wherein I was reminded of my not so stellar knowledge of the Bible--definitely something I can work on in the new year!!
At a little after eight we were on our way to the Bowman's for the night. The kids were ecstatic!! And the parents were pretty pumped too. The kids played for a bit while we all chatted and at 10:30 we did a count down for the kids and then off to bed they went. We then cracked open our first game of the weekend which was Forbidden Island. It's a great cooperative game. We lost but still had a lot of fun. Afterwards we played Ticket to Ride Europe and then stayed up to chat until 2:30 in the morning.
It took forever to fall asleep and seemed like only minutes before the kids were awake and wondering if it was time to get up. The kids were filled with their seemingly boundless energy as the adults crawled out to the kitchen in search of that first life infusing cup of coffee. And then we downed our second still hoping to wake from our sleep deprived stupor.
After a delicious breakfast of french toast and bacon the kids watched some Shaun the Sheep while we played another round of Forbidden Island and Ticket to Ride. After lunch we played a round of Konexi and a round of Things.
It was wonderful to be able to hang out with friends and play games to ring in the new year. Now the kiddos are in bed and I'm sure I won't be far behind!
