Meeting the Prime Minister

Today the Prime Minister made a social call on the little town of Montague.  And while I may not agree with this particular politician or some of the things he has done, he is the guy running the country and he's basically showing up in my backyard!  How could we not go and say hello?!

We headed over to the curling rink at 8:30 with the hopes that our illustrious leader would be arriving at 9 o'clock.  While we waited we noticed our wonderful friends the Bowmans and we chatted with them which helped pass the time.

Justin arrived just after 9:30 to much applause and smiles.  He quickly worked the crowd as he made his way up to the podium.  Once atop his mighty platform, it was his "Ra Ra Sis Boom Bah--Aren't we wonderful?!" shtick.  With that out of the way, we were wished an early Happy Canada Day before he climbed off the platform and worked his way back through the crowd.

 Here he is mid spiel.

Some of the kids anxiously waiting.

Justin and our local MP Lawrence MacAulay.

The next series of shots are courtesy of my wonderful friend Denise--this is when we finally got our chance to shake hands with the Prime Minister--just watch the expressions!!

 Sooooo Funny!!!
