I hope everyone enjoyed their New Year's Eve celebrations! We went to our church pot luck and then to the Bowman's for a sleep over. The adults enjoyed lots of games and the kiddos played indoors and out and watched a few shows. It was a wonderful way to ring in the new year.
This Christmas I've really enjoyed finding some old black and white films to enjoy. I have to thank my wonderful friend Jackie for telling me about them. We watched Christmas in Connecticut--really cute and funny, Going My Way--gotta love Bing Crosby, It Happened on 5th Avenue--the kids found this one quite hilarious, and The Shop Around the Corner--I always enjoyed You've Got Mail but I think I almost enjoyed this one more!
Marko went back to work on Thursday--the same day a big storm was due to hit the Maritimes. He got most of the day in before heading home early to beat the storm. The kids and I stayed busy getting prepared in case our power went out. They cleaned while I made biscuits, bread and banana loaf and had chili simmering on the stove. Thankfully our power only flickered but never went out. Any snow that accumulated soon disappeared as rain and warmer temperatures came in.
This Monday will be our first day back at the books and I was thankful that Marko took the kids out for the day today and I was able to get some planning and organizing done. I'm looking forward to getting back at it--hopefully the kids are too.
Sadly, we haven't been able to sell our house and it doesn't really look like it's going to happen any time soon. Our contract with our real estate agent is up the beginning of February and we'll probably just take the house off the market until at least the spring. I'm pretty disappointed but what can ya do? We'll just take one day at a time.
Now for a cavalcade of pictures.
