Back to the Routine...Almost

It was a gorgeous day today to get back into the swing of things!  The kids got started early with some puzzle work on the family room floor.
The kids love the world map puzzle and we enjoyed playing a game of Find that Country before hitting the books.

And here is my crazy crew all ready to get back into their books.

And we usually start with our Bible reading and then the first chapter of our read aloud.  This was today's pick:
And this book entirely derailed our homeschool day!! It was amazing!  Denise had recommended it to me so I knew it would be good.  But I wasn't ready for the ending--so many tears--such a beautiful story of courage, determination and love.  If you haven't read this book, I highly recommend that you get a copy as soon as possible!

After lunch Levi went to play in the front room and fell asleep playing dinkies.
And yes, his arm is an interesting shade of green!  During story reading he had been colouring on his arm...how delightful!

This evening Emma-Lyn made this exciting discovery:
I think her hope had been to incubate it until it hatched but it was stone cold when she picked it up.  Beautiful blue robin's egg though.
